How can I help?
1. Pray...pray...pray!
The key to opening doors, changing hearts and building the Kingdom is prayer. (James 5:16, Matthew 7:7, and Philippians 4:6-7)
The apostle Paul received a vision at night, probably as a response to prayer, to take the Gospel to Europe (Macedonia). (Acts 16:9)
2. Learn more about the mission field, and its laborers.
Local churches sponsor missionaries and missions events. Read books (see the Learn about Missions page), research on the internet.
This will help make your prayers more specific and targeted to real needs. It will also change your heart and give you vision.
3. Volunteer
Sign up in your local church's missions committee or ministry. Help raise funds for a local missionary.
Start a letter writing campaign to encourage missionaries in the field. Give missions orientation in local churches.
There are hundreds of ways to volunteer. If you need ideas, asks your local church missions coordinator or pastor.
4. Go!
Consider signing up for a local, domestic or overseas missions trip or project. Short term missions opportunities abound and they are life changing.
Some may even consider long term assignments. Needs abound: church planting, community development needs, construction, teaching, etc...
It will require developing a vision, getting prepared (for example, learning about cross-cultural ministry), getting to know your mission.
